  • Ana Pueyo is a Senior Associate at Principal Economics, with extensive international experience in consultancy, academia, and policy.

    Ana is an energy and environmental economist and engineer with over 20 years’ experience advising on energy investments, infrastructure, and sustainable development. She has led and contributed to a wide range of high-impact projects across New Zealand, the Pacific, Africa, and Europe. Before joining Principal Economics, Ana was a Senior Energy Advisor at New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, where she led the design and economic assessment of renewable energy investments across the Pacific. Prior to that, she was a Research Fellow at Motu Economic and Public Policy Research in Wellington. Before moving to New Zealand, Ana spent a decade as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies in the UK, where she led major international research programmes on energy and development. Earlier in her career, she worked as an energy and environment consultant for public and private sector clients in Europe.
