About you

We are looking for a consultant with experience in infrastructure economics (this includes all types of infrastructure). The ideal skills for this position are as follows: - Familiarity with one or more of the following packages: Stata, R, SAS, EViews, ArcGIS, - Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, - Experience in academic and/or market research, - Proposal and report writing skills, - Familiarity with evaluation frameworks, such as the Treasury's Social Cost Benefit Analysis framework and Waka Kotahi's Monetised Benefits and Costs Manual. Client management and networking skills will be a bonus.

About us

Principal Economics is a leading economic consultancy providing evidence-based decision support for public and private clients. We have been working on a range of important topics around infrastructure, transport, housing, inequality, climate change, social policy, and disruptive technologies (amongst other topics). We have a flat organization chart. Each project is led by the Director and is supported by our economists. We strive to recruit and develop talented people to work together to produce meaningful economic analysis and to create a positive impact on our clients and society.

Qualifications and experience

We prioritise experienced candidates, with a minimum of five years relevant experience working in local or central government or consulting firms. Preferably you hold a postgraduate degree or higher qualification in Economics, Finance, or related studies.
